About The Role

International Services, Inc.in Arlington Heights, IL seeks Valuation Analyst. Responsible for engagement planning: determine the appropriate standard, premise and level of value, and subject interest. Data collection: collect relevant client data necessary to perform a valuation analysis. Financial statement analysis: review and analyze financial statements of the subject company and adjust to reflect normal operating conditions. Company background analysis: obtain and document a thorough understanding of the subject company through research, management interviews and correspondence, and site visits. Economic and industry analysis: analyze the economic and competitive industry dynamics of the subject company to identify strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats. Valuation preparation: evaluate and apply appropriate valuations approaches and methodologies including preparing valuation findings, tables, and charts necessary to communicate business valuation results. Document preparation: assist in preparation of proposals, reports, and executive presentations. Due diligence: participate in due diligence activities on pending M&A transactions, purchase price allocations, goodwill impairment measurement, restructurings, and fairness opinions. Telecommuting is permitted within commutable distance to the office. Must possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or related discipline required and 2 years of experience in the job offered or a related role. Must also possess experience with (i) applying statistical concepts in variance to assess data quality and develop insights; (ii) Microsoft Office Suite products to automate repetitive tasks and produce reports; (iii) leading oral presentations on financial topics in front of expert and non-expert audiences; (iv) utilizing financial modelling to perform financial risk assessments; (v) translating financial statements to financial ratios to identify a business’ strengths and weaknesses; (vi) producing written reports that aid in financial decision making such as industry reports, merger and acquisition reports, investment research reports, and credit risk analysis reports; (vii) auditing financial statements and flagging financial irregularities; (viii) reviewing a broad spectrum of financial reports such as balance sheets, income statements, statements of cash flow, and statements of retained earnings; (ix) researching businesses, industries, and economic data; and (x) M&A transactions, purchase price allocations, and goodwill impairment. Salary: $73,000/year
